Philip Morris emphasizes dedication to America with new advertising campaign

PMI US Launches “Invested America” Campaign

On July 3rd, PMI US, a branch of Philip Morris International, unveiled its “Invested America” campaign. The initiative is centered around improving public health while also promoting job creation, invigorating manufacturing, offering better alternatives for adults aged 21 and older who smoke, and enhancing communities nationwide.

PMI emphasized its commitment, stating that it’s deeply invested in America’s future. They aim to build advanced manufacturing facilities and contribute to local community advancements. “Our team at PMI US will help shape the next chapter of America, continuing to create high-quality jobs and invest in innovation for generations to come,” they said.

The campaign aims to showcase PMI US’s vision of responsible business leadership. It comes from a foundation of actions that deliver tangible benefits to American workers, communities, and the economy. The campaign kicks off with full-page print advertisements, followed by a digital approach. It seeks to introduce PMI US’s vision to decision-makers and thought leaders in various fields, encouraging them to join a coalition focused on the nation’s success. PMI aims to share their story with Americans who are grappling with the challenges in their lives and communities.

According to PMI US, the “investment in America” component will emphasize four critical pillars of American commitment:

  • American manufacturing comeback: PMI US is announcing over $800 million in new investments aimed at expanding manufacturing facilities for non-smoking products. This not only grows American manufacturing but also generates well-paying jobs that foster community development.
  • Advances in public health: PMI, which has never marketed tobacco products in the US, strives to help 30 million legal adults switch from combustible cigarettes.
  • Strengthening the community: PMI US takes a proactive approach to corporate citizenship by investing in communities where employees and adult consumers reside, focusing on sustainable impacts over short-term solutions. Their efforts include supporting military veterans, promoting economic empowerment, and responding to natural disasters.
  • Purpose-driven performance: With more than $1.4 billion invested globally in smokeless innovation since 2008, PMI has achieved transformative solutions while maintaining robust business performance.

Based in Stamford, Connecticut, PMI US operates multiple facilities in Virginia, Colorado, North Carolina, and Kentucky. As new facilities open and existing ones expand, they are creating numerous high-quality jobs and investing millions of dollars directly into communities. Since 2022, PMI US has donated around $25 million to charities, and in 2024 alone, the company and its employees contributed over $10 million to 327 nonprofits across 35 states.

“This campaign represents the innovation and resolve necessary to revamp the entire industry and support America,” Kennedy remarked. “It underscores our commitment to making meaningful investments that bring real value to our business, workforce, and communities. In every state we operate, we are more than just a business.”
