John Corbett, famous actor known for his roles in “Sex and the City” and “My Big Fat Wedding,” has admitted that becoming an actor was a mistake.
During a recent appearance on David Spade and Dana Carvey's “Fly on the Wall” podcast, Corbett regretted her career choice, saying it “left her unfulfilled.” Though the star has had great success in her 30-year film career, she said acting just didn't make her happy. “Look, I'm in the fourth quarter of the football game right now, in life and in showbiz,” Corbett said. “These are simply facts,” he said, “and so I can now confess that I have made wrong choices in my life.”
The famous actor went on to say that even as a child he didn't like having his every step and move told to him on set, explaining how unhappy he was with his work life.
“I've chosen something my whole life to fulfill my professional life, which is, 'Hey, stand here, say this, wear this, look this way, say it faster, cut your hair like this,'” Corbett said. “I feel like a puppet.”
To further highlight his frustration, Starr gave an example.

“Have you ever sat in a doctor's office waiting room for like an hour and thought, 'What is this?' For me, making a movie is exactly that, because I'm not involved in any of the creative process,” Corbett said on the podcast.
He went on to talk about how Emma Stone was heavily involved behind the scenes in her recent films “Cruella” and “Poor Things,” and compared his own experiences to Stone's. Corbett said he wished he had had the same opportunities.
“I just want to say, I've made a lot of money, I live in a beautiful house, people come to every restaurant I go to, I have friends in the world,” he said.
“But in terms of a fulfilling creative work life, I haven't written a single line. I haven't written a single joke to make people laugh. So, I'm unfulfilled in that respect.”
Corbett further spoke about his career setbacks.

“There were some good moments here and there, but mostly I'm just sitting around waiting for someone to knock on the door and say, 'Hey, come back and tell that story again,'” Corbett said on the podcast.

Corbett rose to fame with his starring role in the 1990s drama Northern Exposure, before going on to play Sarah Jessica Parker's love interest in the hit series Sex and the City, a role he reprised in the spin-off And Just Like That.
The actor has also appeared in numerous productions, including Parenthood and To All the Boys.
