Legendary actor Pierce Brosnan has reportedly pleaded not guilty to charges of trespassing in a restricted area, court documents have reportedly revealed.
Brosnan reportedly entered a plea in early January after being charged in December in Wyoming with entering a protected hot springs area in Yellowstone National Park. According to criminal documents filed in U.S. District Court in Wyoming, the actor traveled on foot on Nov. 1 “within Yellowstone Canyon restricted to all hot spring areas and trails” and “closed and He said he was issued a summons to appear for violating usage restrictions.
Both citations are considered misdemeanors, according to People magazine. Brosnan's troubles began when he posted a photo of himself standing in what authorities say is a restricted and dangerous area outside a national park's hot springs.
Local authorities have noted that the area is dangerous and Brosnan shouldn't be there, but the famous actor insists he did nothing intentionally wrong while hiking in Yellowstone's hot springs. People magazine reported.
According to Yellowstone National Park's official website, it boasts “unique hydrothermal and geological features,” including “a geothermal field containing approximately half of the world's active geysers.”
The preserve notes several safety rules around the hot springs area and warns visitors to the park that there is ground below the hot springs area. They allude to potential hazards in the area, but do not specify the associated risks.
The website states that walkers and visitors must follow clearly designated paths as “the pool is so acidic it will burn your boots”.

Brosnan was reportedly working in the area filming “The Unholy Trinity'' when he took a photo of himself in what appeared to be a restricted area, according to People magazine. (Related: Ice Spice sued for copyright infringement: report)
