British journalist Piers Morgan on Wednesday slammed left-wing activist Francesca Fiorentini as “annoying” after the rapper delivered a monologue about how he gets ratings by picking fights on his show.
During an episode of “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Morgan began discussing Fox host Kat Timpf's new book and began agreeing with another guest who doesn't traditionally align with either the Republican or Democratic Party. Fiorentini called his comments “disingenuous” and said the show revolved around exploiting “social media algorithms.”
“I totally agree. I'm a little bit like that. I'm not on the right or the left,” Morgan began. “I like to go head to head with anybody, challenge them, have a good debate, like we had today. We go head to head with people who have very different opinions. [to] Now, let's talk to each other and think about it.
“You're being really dishonest. But you're being really dishonest because all you do on this show is exploit social media algorithms to pit people against each other. You do that from the get-go and get click, click, click, and if you don't get a million hits,[lion] “Never ask that person again,” Fiorentini said.
Ms Fiorentini argued that women are “particularly vulnerable” to being criticised online, and went on to accuse Morgan of “pretending” to appease both parties.(Related article: Piers Morgan criticizes legacy media for 'shocking' attempt to 'downplay' 2nd Trump assassination attempt)
“You're literally playing a game where Kat is blaming you. I love this idea, and I especially love Kat's book and how it's targeted at women, because women, in particular, are like, if you say one thing that they don't like; [you’re like]”It's like, 'Oh, I've hated you from the get-go,' right?'” Fiorentini continued, “Women are so vulnerable to this, especially online. But Piers, please stop acting like you think something's wrong and we can't do this. Why can't we hold hands across the aisle? Because your whole algorithm is based on that. Your whole model is based on that.”

“Francesca, that's a lovely thing to say that will get lots of clicks from your followers, so you just gave this little monologue, but it's based on evidence,” Morgan interjected.
The pair continued to argue, with Morgan trying to restrain the activist, repeatedly telling him to “hold on a second”.
“Usually I don't get a million views on my videos, but I still invite you back, so that's not true. I'm doing it as an act of charity because I like you,” Morgan said.
Other houseguests on the show were seen trying to contain their laughter as the pair argued, with Morgan eventually telling Fiorentini he was glad she was on the show because she was “super annoying”.
