After the Lufthansa plane diverted from its destination to Sicily’s Catania airport on July 28, the flight path of the pilot flying it painted an empty penis, according to Euronews.

According to Euronews, the SAC cited a sudden change in wind as the reason for the turn.
“For this reason, the pilot had to maintain a yelling posture before attempting to land again, but without success,” Lufthansa said.

Skypenis appeared as the aircraft circled the sky for 16 minutes off the east coast of Sicily before retracing its original flight path to Malta, according to Euronews.
Officials reportedly claimed the Skypenis was an accidental occurrence. However, Italian media believed the pilot of Flight LH306 was “disgruntled” and intentionally followed the path of his penis, the paper said.
A flight to Catania was either re-directed or canceled due to the closure of one of the aircraft’s terminals due to a fire. according to to Euronews. The airport management company SAC said it faced backlash for its slow response.
