PHOENIX, Arizona – Yesterday, Tre C. James, 30, of Pinon, Arizona, was arrested for first-degree murder and multiple domestic violence charges. James made his first appearance before U.S. Justice of the Peace Camille D. Bibles yesterday. A detention hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Earlier this week, a federal grand jury filed eight indictments against James. Counts 1 and 2 allege that James shot and killed Jamie Yazie, a Pinon woman whose body was found on an Indian reservation in November 2021, going missing in the summer of 2019. . The circumstances of her disappearance were jointly investigated by the Navajo Nation Division of the Public Safety Criminal Investigative Service, the Navajo Nation Police Department, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
James was also charged with several acts of domestic violence. , alleging he committed acts of domestic violence, including assault with a dangerous weapon.
