Plaxico Burress Sells Super Bowl Ring For Good Chunk Of Change, But He Honestly Could’ve Gotten A Lot More

Plaxico Burress may have been desperate for money, but he could have gotten a bigger bag.

Former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress landed $280,600 after auctioning off the Super Bowl XLII ring. it was announcement By Heritage auction, where Burress rings were sold over the weekend for $280,000.

Burress’ ring has many historic value, given that he made a game-winning touchdown catch in the game with the G-Men victory over the New England Patriots. The New York Championship victory negates Putt’s attempts to achieve an unbeaten season. (Related: Welcome to Miami: Carsonbeck receives a big reality check when it comes to big city paradise)

$280,600 is the second highest price tag sold by Super Bowl Ring, and Baltimore Colts head coach Don McCafferty’s Super Bowl V-ring is the most expensive at $300,000. The ring was sold in 2022.

In his NFL career, Burress had made around $30 million, but he dealt with past financial issues and failed to make civil lawsuits and tax payments.

Considering how much Don McCafferty rings are on sale for $300,000 and the historic Plaxico Burress rings are on sale, I think he can subtract at least $500,000-$600,000. When you settle for $280,600, you’ll be desperate.

But we don’t underestimate Plaxico.
