Three special episodes feature people with deep connections to the region
Phoenix – Three unique episodes of the *Arizona Highways* podcast delve into the losses experienced in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, viewed through the eyes of individuals closely associated with the area.
This series, which became available this week on the *Arizona Highways* website, includes discussions with:
- Bruce Aiken, an artist who has spent over 30 years in Roaring Springs within the Grand Canyon, and is among the longest residents of the North Rim community.
- Dr. Tom Myers, who, along with his wife, has spent their honeymoon in the North Rim and worked in clinics on both rims, completing the entire 270-mile hike of the Grand Canyon.
- Amy S. Martin, a long-time backcountry ranger at Grand Canyon National Park and a contributor having lived and worked in the North Rim.
“The three individuals we interview have very deep roots in the Grand Canyon and especially the North Rim,” remarked Robert Steve, editor of *Arizona Highways* and co-host of the episode. “Their poignant and reflective stories extend far beyond the news on the grand scale of losses like the Grand Canyon Lodge and extensive forest areas.”
