“After several months of thoughtful consideration, our family has reached the decision to consider selling the Twins this summer,” the organization said in a statement. “Now is the right time to announce this decision as we enter the next phase of this process,” the Twins organization said. “We truly respect and cherish what the Twins mean to Minneapolis, St. Paul, the great state of Minnesota, and our entire region. Our goal is to help our team, our staff, and our fans make everything possible. Our aim is to provide as much useful information as possible.”
recently, forbes estimated the Twins’ worth at a whopping $1.46 billion. And when you consider the $44 million the Pohlad family paid for it in 1984, it’s a tremendous return on investment.

Yes, Minnesota collapsed here in the 2024 season, ultimately missing out on the playoffs to their American League Central division rivals, the Detroit Tigers, but the Twins consistently reached the postseason over the years. I’ve done it. In short, the Pohrads have done a great job of launching a franchise that will be sold.
As for potential buyers, the Twins are a solid organization to acquire, but the whole “being in Minneapolis” thing sucks…
