Glorilla Arrested on Drug Charges After Home Break-In
Rapper Glorilla has reportedly been arrested on felony drug charges following a break-in at her Atlanta mansion, where illegal substances were allegedly found.
At around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, deputies from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a robbery at the rapper’s home. Three intruders reportedly entered the property, prompting the armed residents to fire at them. The suspects fled before the police arrived. Law enforcement used K-9s and drones for a search, and they reported detecting a strong odor consistent with illegal drugs.
After obtaining a search warrant, authorities discovered a large amount of marijuana in Glorilla’s master bedroom closet. Although she was not home during the break-in, she has since been charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.
The artist, whose real name is Gloria Woods, surrendered to Forsyth County Jail on Tuesday, later being released on $22,260 bail.
Her attorneys, Marissa Goldberg and Drew Fundling, criticized the charges in a statement to TMZ, suggesting that it highlights troubling priorities in law enforcement. They noted that Woods was away when her home was targeted, adding that the intruders likely knew she wasn’t present. They also expressed concern for her well-being following the violent intrusion, where a high-value item was taken before the suspects left.
The law firm accused law enforcement of pursuing Glorilla rather than focusing on the actual suspects involved in the break-in. They stated that, instead of investigating the violent home invasion, the deputies sought a warrant after finding what they claimed was a small quantity of marijuana.
“Law enforcement went after her, even though she hadn’t been at her home for some time, while no warrants have been issued for the intruders,” they emphasized, calling Woods a victim rather than a suspect and criticizing the whole situation as deeply troubling.
The law firm has yet to respond to further inquiries about the matter.
