Police Arrest Suspect After Man Gets Run Over On Video

Canadian authorities have arrested and charged a female suspect with stealing a Porsche and running over the car's owner in the process.

Sarah Badshaw, 18, turned herself in on Thursday following the Sept. 6 incident. According to Peel Regional Police (PRP) press release: Police say she saw an ad on Autotrader and visited the victim's home in Ontario, Canada.

According to the press release, the suspect viewed a 2022 Porsche Cayenne that was for sale and briefly sat inside the vehicle, before “rapidly reversing, striking and injuring the victim, before fleeing in the stolen vehicle.”

Video shared by CityNews shows Badshaw walking up to the victim's home and asking to see the car. The victim's security camera then shows the female owner, who appears to be in the driver's seat, walking around the white Porsche.

When the owner of the vehicle attempts to open the door, the vehicle appears to begin to move. The vehicle then suddenly reverses, striking the owner, who appears to be standing behind the vehicle. The owner is seen falling to the road and rolling several times, and the 18-year-old suspect appears to flee in the vehicle.

Mr Badshaw appears to have crashed into a car parked behind him, with traffic near the scene coming to a halt and horns can be heard honking.

The man can be seen standing up as the car comes to a stop, and the alleged accomplice's car is seen driving away shortly afterwards. (RELATED: Can he get out?: Suspected car thief arrested after man locked in Corvette)

According to PRP, Badshaw faces charges of dangerous driving causing injury, motor vehicle theft, driving without a licence and failing to return after an accident causing injury.

“Sarah has previously been charged with fraud-related offences in the City of Peel and is wanted for separate investigations by other police stations in the GTA,” the press release stated.

The 18-year-old remains in police custody and a bail hearing is scheduled for Friday. Authorities expect more arrests and charges in the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
