Safford – For the second time this week, police are busy investigating a murder in Safford.
Safford Police and the Arizona Department of Public Safety have blocked Number 7.th 8 from the streetth Avenue to 10th avenue and 9th Avenue From 7th street to 8th Street for that investigation.
According to the officers on the scene, this area is necessary to collect all the evidence scattered. The incident reportedly covered a large area of the area, including multiple residences. There are no plans to reopen the road.
Officers were initially dispatched to the 9,700 block, according to a press release from the SPD.th Avenue around 4 a.m. on Thursday regarding the reported attempted robbery.
When officers arrived, they found the bloody man acting “out of control and in a state of confusion,” according to the release.

While attempting treatment, subject became belligerent, and officers subdued him using tasers and pepper spray.
Despite subsequent rescue attempts by medical professionals, the subject was not resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to the nature of the incident and the involvement of the SPD who initially subdued the subject, the Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating it as a homicide. However, preliminary evidence indicates that the subject’s fatal injuries were likely caused by his own actions in the attempted robbery.
The SPD has also continued its investigation of the double homicide in Midtown since Monday morning.
