Police shot dead a man who allegedly held a woman and her daughter hostage in Miami Beach on Thursday.

Suspect Darien Young was shot dead by police after he allegedly held a knife-wielding mother and daughter hostage at Victoria’s Secret on Lincoln Road. according to To Local 10 News.

Footage captured by a witness to the incident showed the suspect holding a knife to the woman’s neck inside the store.The police were dispatched to the lingerie store shortly after 5:30 p.m. (Related: Newly released video shows police shootout with suspect in crowded supermarket)

Witnesses said the suspect threatened the victim with a knife and said, “I’m going to kill you, I’m going to kill you, don’t hurt me.”

Young was caught shoplifting, according to the person who filmed the video. He is also accused of threatening two other people inside the store.

The suspect was shot dead by arriving police. The shooting was not captured on video.

Young was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition after being shot, police confirmed.

Young is believed to have fled the minimum security Calumet House traditional housing unit in New Hampshire on July 21. according to To Local 10 News.It is unclear how he got to Florida.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement plans to investigate the shooting, police said.
