Police ID body dumped in norther Arizona in 1989

Moherb County, Arizona — Mojave County Sheriff’s Office hopes the public can help identify the man who killed his mother in California more than 30 years ago and dumped her body in northern Arizona.

On December 12, 1989, the body of a naked woman was found on Old Temple Bar Road in Mojave County, about 50 miles south of Las Vegas. According to the MCSO, the victim had been stabbed multiple times.

The woman’s identity was unknown for decades until the MCSO handed over her fingerprints to the FBI in February 2022. Her fingerprints matched a Bakersfield woman.

Further investigation and DNA testing confirmed the identity of the victim as Marina Ramos, who was last seen alive in August 1989.

According to MCSO, Ramos’ two young daughters, Elizabeth and Jasmine, also went missing at the same time as Marina.

Marina and her children were last seen driving in a car driven by a man known as Fernando.

Elizabeth and Jasmine are now 34 and 33 years old.
