Investigation Into Trey Songz After Alleged Assault on Photographer
Authorities are looking into R&B artist Trey Songz following accusations of a violent assault on photographer Isa Mansoor.
Mansoor reported to a media outlet that he had been hired by the owner of a venue called The Ivy in Huntington, New York, to capture video footage of Songz during an event. While working, he mentioned knowing arrangements had been made for the singer’s appearance. However, tensions escalated when fans began to crowd around Songz, seeking photos and videos. Mansoor alleges that, in response, Songz struck him on the side of the head and hurled him against a wall.
Video clips shared online appeared to showcase a chaotic situation within the club. Mansoor claimed the altercation began when the venue owner requested a final photo of Songz beside the venue’s logo outside. While filming, he stated that Songz began attacking him, resulting in damage to two of his cameras.
According to Mansoor, the venue owner attempted to intervene by saying, “That’s my man!” to which Songz allegedly reacted aggressively, yelling and clenching his fists.
After the incident, Mansoor sought refuge in a friend’s car while Songz fled the scene. He later reported the incident to law enforcement, who confirmed they were investigating the matter. Following the altercation, Mansoor went to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, undergoing a CT scan and X-ray. He mentioned the diagnosis of a concussion, along with migraine and ankle pain, and received medication for his symptoms.
As of now, Trey Songz has not made any public remarks regarding the incident.
