Investigation into Double Homicide at Devil’s Den Trail
On Tuesday, Arkansas State Troopers reported that the individual responsible for the fatal attack on a couple at Devil’s Den Trail over the weekend likely sustained injuries during the incident.
The victims, identified as Clinton David Brink, 43, and his wife, Kristen Amanda Brink, 41, were attacked while hiking with their two young daughters, ages 7 and 9. Investigators indicated that it is highly probable the assailant was hurt while assaulting the couple. A statement released by state police highlighted the tragic loss, underscoring that Clinton and Kristan were devoted parents who deserve justice.
On Monday evening, detectives shared a composite sketch of the suspect, described as a medium-built white man dressed in long-sleeved clothing, dark shorts, fingerless gloves, sunglasses, and a dark ball cap. Witnesses reported seeing him driving away from the park in a black four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with a license plate obscured by tape.
A press release from Arkansas State Police called for public assistance, asking anyone with information to reach out. The FBI’s Little Rock Field Office has also joined the investigation. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders characterized the murder as “terrifying” and reassured the public that law enforcement agencies are committed to capturing the suspect before trial.
Authorities found the couple’s bodies on a section of the 1.5-mile loop trail that had been closed during the searches. Despite many tips received, spokesman Nick Genty emphasized that they would not disclose potential evidence online to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
Genty encouraged hikers who were on the trail Saturday or residents with security footage from nearby highways to contact the authorities, suggesting that any videos or photos might be crucial to the case.
