Police Rush To Jennifer Aniston’s Home For Welfare Check, Realize It Was Likely Swatting Attempt: REPORT

According to reports, police were dispatched to Jennifer Aniston's home on Friday evening after receiving a report of someone being in danger.

Police received a call from a man who told the operator that a friend was “unwell” and implied he saw someone on the other end, TMZ reported Wednesday. The caller then asked police to check on her safety and provided Aniston's address. Authorities arrived at the “Friends” star's home just after midnight and were met by a security guard who seemed confused by the police presence, TMZ reported. TMZ.

Police were unaware that they had arrived at Aniston's home until they had spoken to the actress in person to check on her safety. Police spoke to the actress in person, who assured them she was completely OK and did not need assistance. According to TMZ, Aniston admitted she had not intended to harm herself, and it became clear to police at this point that she had been targeted as part of a swatting operation.

According to TMZ, police updated their records to document the incident and noted that if they received any further safety calls at the residence, they would contact security for an update before disturbing Aniston.

Police are continuing to investigate the call as a swatting case and are seeking additional information to determine who the caller was and why they wanted to carry out this prank. (RELATED: DJ Akademiks claims Meek Mill's home was attacked during a live stream)

Aniston is not the only victim of swatting calls, other Hollywood stars who have fallen victim include Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Justin Bieber.
