Pollster Matt Towery said on “Hannity” Thursday evening he believes President Donald Trump’s poll numbers are higher than reported as they “slump” in polls.
A new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, released on Sunday, showed a record decline after Democrats fell to 29%, losing 20 points from January 2021. Discussing the party’s struggle and lack of leadership, Hannity asked whether he believes that Democrats’ promotion of progressive policies and social justice efforts “reflects what the party wants.”
“Most of these polls we saw were those who didn’t make Trump right in the election anyway, so they’re off the ground,” Tower said.
“Secondly, they’re continuing to talk about Democrats, but what most people don’t point out is the number of people who now identify themselves as Democrats. “So they have a small party that doesn’t seem to have a plan. They’re not voting at all.”
In a CNN/SSRS poll conducted on March 6-9, Democrats’ disapproval became prominent from within, with only 63% of Democrats and democratic independences approving the party. This marks a nine-point decline since January and an 18-point decline since the start of the Biden-Harris administration. On February 9, Trump achieved the highest approval rate for both terms at 53%, according to a CBS News poll. However, following the new highs, his approval reportedly fell due to economic concerns. Emerson College Polling Survey Found Trump took office in just 50 days with 47% approval, with 45% disapproving.
“The irony I have now is Sean, these polls came out and said, “President Trump was a little under his performance, or his performance advantage,” Tower said. “Well, I don’t think it’s true, because if you say there are no Democrats anywhere, they’re falling sharply because that means Trump has to go well.”
“No one can do anything bad at the same time,” Towerley said. “I think there are a lot of presidents. In his profession, they’re higher than the polls show now. I think Democrats really don’t seem to have a plan.
Democrats have struggled to present a unified message or leadership to voters since Trump’s November victory. The Senate’s recent approval of the House GOP-led spending bill – 10 Republican Democrats have joined, so Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer is calling for him to stay aside.
Especially with CNN/SSRS Opinion surveyover 30% of respondents did not name the lawmakers they believed would “reflect the best” of the Democrats. Of those who went, 10% chose New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
