Hit-and-Run Incident in Phoenix Involves Pregnant Woman

A man has been taken into custody following a hit-and-run incident involving a pregnant woman near Lake Montezuma in central Arizona, as reported by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred around 3 PM on September 7th, where emergency responders discovered a 29-year-old woman in distress on Rimlock Road in Phoenix. She was seriously injured and transported via helicopter to a hospital in Metro Phoenix. Fortunately, both she and her fetus are expected to survive, according to the authorities.

Witnesses described seeing a white SUV, similar to a Jeep Cherokee with a black emblem, leaving the scene. They had informed the deputies that the vehicle had fled toward Rimlock.

Later that same night, law enforcement located Jesus Junior Louis Hernandez, 30, along with the vehicle implicated in the incident. Paul Wick, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s department, noted that Louis Hernandez faces charges including hit-and-run, as well as dangerous and disorderly conduct.

“During the discussion, the victim fell from the car, and the suspect ran over her before leaving the scene,” Wick explained.

The sheriff’s office is urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch at 928-771-3260. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232, or they can be made online.
