Prescott Names Gwen Rowitsch as Public Works Director

The City of Prescott has appointed Gwen Lowich, Director of Public Works. Rowich has been the Deputy Director of Public Works since 2020 and has worked in Prescott since 2007.

Gwen Lowich has been appointed City of Prescott Public Works Manager.

“I am thrilled to be appointed Gwen as Director of Public Works,” said City Manager Katie Gregory. “Her experience, combined with her leadership skills and commitment to Prescott citizens, will continue to contribute to the city in this new role.”

“Public works is a very busy sector that provides residents of this community with essential services such as water, sewage, drainage, transportation, solid waste and street maintenance,” said Gwen. “We are very proud of the work we do every day and are grateful to be part of such a hardworking and dynamic team.”

Gwen has over 30 years of experience in local government in Yavapai County. Prior to working for Prescott, Prescott worked for the City of the Valley and Chino for the City of the Valley in various positions.
Gwen was born and raised in Phoenix. After her high school graduation, she enlisted in the United States Army and worked in public relations as a broadcast journalist, specifically at the Military Academy at West Point. Gwen and her husband Joe, who have lived in Prescott since 1992, have her three adult children and her two grandchildren.
