Prescott police have arrested Thomas Lind, 57, in connection with a domestic altercation that killed his wife Tuesday morning. Around 7:54 a.m., police received a call that two people had been shot dead in an apartment block 200 on North Granite Street. After arriving, officers spoke with Mr. Lind and told police that Mr. Lind shot his 23-year-old son-in-law and then his 46-year-old wife shot herself. Investigators determined that a family argument had erupted and Lind had shot his son-in-law in the lower abdomen. After the first shooting, Lind’s wife shot herself from her room with a handgun. The two victims were taken to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center, where Lind’s wife was pronounced dead. Her stepson was taken to a Phoenix-area hospital and is in stable condition. Lind was taken into custody on charges of domestic violence aggravated assault and misconduct with a weapon and was placed in the Yavapai County Jail. Lind is a prohibited owner of firearms. This incident is still under investigation.
