A Prescott Valley patrol sergeant has been charged with domestic abuse after being arrested Thursday by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputy, according to a statement released by the Prescott Valley Police Department.
Prescott Valley officers received a domestic violence call around 1:45 p.m. at a suburban home near Stoneridge Drive and Black Canyon Highway, police said.
When cops realize the house belongs to Sergeant Prescott Valley. Michael Morris, they called the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office to investigate.
Court records show that the sheriff’s deputy alleged that an intoxicated Morris pulled his daughter’s arm and “tried to hit her with the door,” leaving a scratch on her throat.
His wife, daughter, and his daughter’s boyfriend left the house and returned home four hours later.
Morris grabbed her boyfriend’s arm and tried to get him into a fight, but she couldn’t and punched a hole in the wall, Morris said, according to court records.
Police said agents returned to Morris’ home at 6 p.m. and arrested him on suspicion of disorderly conduct and criminal damages related to domestic violence.
The sheriff’s office did not disclose whether anyone needed medical attention after their arrest.
According to the Yavapai County reservation information, Morris was at the “infirmary.”
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office investigation was still active as of Friday afternoon.
