The second stop on our annual tour of states before the start of the 2023 football season took us to areas dominated by national powerhouses St. John Bosco. Our first stop was Orange County and Martelday. But this year, offensively, schools like the Long Beach Poly and Serra (Gardena) have some great comebacks.
Note: These preseason all-section or all-area teams play in the same 30-player format as Cal-Hi Sports’ annual all-state football team. These are based on a combination of a player’s last season performance and college recruiting efforts. A transfer may not be included if it has not already been reported, has not yet played at the new school, or information regarding the transfer from the previous school is not available. Not all section teams have articles for all players. Some have an intro and then a list.
