Privileged Arizona Teenagers Known as ‘Gilbert Goons’ Accused of Attacks Uploaded to Social Media, Fatal Beating of Boy, 16

Several Arizona teens have been arrested in connection with the Gilbert Goons, a suburban street gang that terrorized Maricopa County for months and is suspected of bludgeoning 16-year-old Preston Lord to death.

Lord's murder was one of several assaults allegedly committed by the Gilbert Goons, a group of young men from the often wealthy Phoenix suburb of Gilbert, Arizona. The teens allegedly filmed much of the attack and distributed it via social media.

A 17-year-old suspect was arrested Thursday in connection with an assault on a minor that occurred on May 29 and was not reported until January 4.
