New Activist Group Raises Funds Amid Tensions

A recently formed group of activists leaning towards the Democratic side has managed to raise over $700,000 for their “mobile-responsive team” during ongoing raids in California, where law enforcement has faced violent confrontations.

The organization, called Save America Movement, aims to track ICE operations in real-time to provide support and transparency. They’ve started various campaigns and have ambitious plans to gather an additional $1 million for their Anti-ICE initiative.

On a recent Thursday, it was highlighted that the initiative had already accumulated $724,395, a notable increase from $280,489. This surge in donations surpassed their initial goal of $500,000, according to archived information from a Democratic fundraising site.

Members of the group have also launched several advertising and social media efforts aimed at raising awareness about their cause. In their communications, they mention the involvement of a diverse mobile team comprising pastors, lawyers, and veterans, all committed to documenting ICE activities more effectively.

In a recent statement, they described ICE agents as operating with a lack of accountability, with the initiative aimed at shedding light on these actions. The group has begun to make its presence known through various platforms, signaling a determined effort to mobilize and engage supporters.

Despite their increasing visibility, Save America Movement has not responded to multiple requests for comments on their campaigns.

The organization’s Executive Committee includes notable figures such as Erica Alexander and Pastor William Barber, both of whom have previously engaged with Democratic initiatives. Their past involvement with significant political movements adds weight to their current endeavors as they seek to challenge conservative narratives and advocate for policy changes.

While protests have taken place against ICE operations, the Department of Homeland Security has noted a sharp rise in physical confrontations involving agents—reportedly increasing nearly sevenfold compared to last year. These incidents echo broader tensions within the immigration debate, which have been particularly heightened in several states.
