Program provides scholarship funding for local students

Arizona Western College and Northern Arizona University Partner in Arizona College Excellence Initiative

Yuma, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – Arizona Western College (AWC) students wishing to transfer to Northern Arizona University (NAU) are eligible for scholarships and support to help them along their educational journey through a recent partnership .

The Arizona College Excellence (ACE) Initiative helps community college students sustain, transfer to NAU, and graduate ready for personal and professional success.

A $3.8 million grant from the Helios Education Foundation and $3.8 million from the NAU Foundation created this initiative.

ACE will provide $2.2 million in direct scholarship funding to partner community colleges to support students and help them transfer to NAU.

This initiative is part of NAU’s Arizona Attainment Alliance (A++) ecosystem approach, achieving statewide academic achievement and partnering with AWC and other colleges and universities serving rural and tribal communities.

ACE will begin this summer, with the first students enrolling and receiving scholarships in spring 2024.
