Proposed water rate changes to be considered by Kingman city council | Kingman Daily Miner

Kingman – The Kingman City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed water rate changes on June 6 at 5:00 pm in the Council Chamber at 310 4th Street Kingman, Arizona.

On April 4, the Council adopted a notice to the effect that a public hearing would be held to consider changes to water tariffs. According to a City of Kingman news release, water rates have not been adjusted since a $2 monthly rate cut was approved for all water users in July 2013. With costs rising, the city hired Willdan Financial Services a few years ago to conduct a survey of water bills. The study included a comprehensive analysis of water system users, operating costs, capital costs, and target reserves.

The study will be completed in March 2023 and will recommend changes to water tariffs over the next five years. The proposed rate changes are designed to address rising costs of essential services and ensure continued quality service. If approved, the new rates will go into effect on his July 2023 bill, increasing monthly water bills for most customers.

Customers are encouraged to use the City of Kingman Water Bill Calculator to see how proposed water bills will affect their monthly bill. Calculators and other information regarding proposed water rates can be found on the City of Kingman website at www.cityofkingman.gov/government/water-fees. Commercial and Irrigation Water customers will receive additional details by email.
