A protester who allegedly vandalized former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's garage on February 11 has been charged with a felony, according to the San Francisco Standard.
Heather Phipps, an activist with the pro-Palestinian group Code Pink, was charged with two counts of felony criminal damage to property for allegedly damaging Pelosi's garage door, according to a complaint filed in San Francisco Superior Court earlier this week. Ta. Exit report.

Phipps is also suspected of causing damage to the street and sidewalk outside the congressman's home in Pacific Heights, the newspaper said. A spokesperson for the Department of Public Works said the damage Phipps allegedly caused cost $5,648 to repair, according to the newspaper. The cleanup operation reportedly consisted of removing paint from sidewalks, street trees and roadways.
Another Code Pink protester, Cynthia Papermaster, is facing a misdemeanor charge of criminal damage to property for allegedly leaving a handprint in Pelosi's garage, the newspaper reported. She has not yet been arraigned, a Code Pink spokesperson said. (Related article: 'You're a war criminal!': Hillary Clinton receives immediate heckles during speech at Columbia University)
Phipps is scheduled to be arraigned on March 12, the newspaper said.
This is not the first time Pelosi has confronted Code Pink protesters. The former speaker of the House of Representatives told the protesters who crowded around his Okst car. The newspaper reported that on January 29, 2023, a video calling for people to “go back to China, where their headquarters are located” went viral.
Nancy Pelosi is pressing charges against the same people who told her to “go back to China.” She has an incredibly powerful person who is now ordering the arrest of activists, who she says should be investigated by federal authorities. Seems bad. https://t.co/sDsxU23ZE3

Code Pink previously said in an October 2023 blog post that its goal was to “temporarily hold Pelosi hostage” during demonstrations calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. A spokesperson for the group called the timing an “unfortunate coincidence” after learning that the date coincided with the anniversary of David DePaap's attack on Pelosi's husband, Paul Pelosi.
