Purdue linebacker Jalen Graham is one of over 300 hopefuls to show off his raw talent this week. Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. spoke with Graham On his reaction to former teammate George Karrafutis playing in Super Bowl LVII and his mission to bring even more respect to Purdue football.
“Great. I was rooting for the Chiefs to win,” Graham said. “So it was great to see him out there and really making an impact on the game.”
Graham smiled proudly as he shared his thoughts on Karraftis winning a Super Bowl title in his rookie season. He said he reached out and congratulated him after the game.
“Only DMs[direct messages],” said Graham. “Congratulations, tell him everyone is proud of him. He knows. So (I’m) proud of him for doing a good job.”
According to Graham, supporting Karlafutis is just part of the mission to bring Purdue football to life. He continued to share his passion for his program while speaking to everyone around the podium.
“I want to go back to high school as part of the mindset of my class and change things and stories about Purdue football so we can compete at a high level,” explained Graham. Think to the end. The Big 10 Championship is just around the corner. I think we could have changed it at least a little bit. And I think there were four other teammates of his here. So it’s very exciting to see all of us get a chance to compete. ”
Graham appeared in nine games with the Boilermakers last year, finishing the year with 52 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 5 passes defended and 1 interception. He served as the defensive leader in his final season at Purdue and is looking to carry it over to the NFL.
