PV Police Pick up 13 Abandoned Dogs Since Jan. 1

In early January 2023, Animal Control Officers at the Prescott Valley Police Department picked up 13 dogs and puppies that had been abandoned at various locations, including construction sites and parks. These animals were abandoned in these places in freezing cold with no food or water.

Some animals that are picked up are usually held at the Prescott Valley Police Department until claimed by their respective owners. None of the 13 animals abandoned this year have gone missing or been reported.

Under Arizona Revised Law No. 13-2910, neglecting and neglecting an animal is a class 5 felony, cruelty to animals. Citizens are encouraged to report incidents of animal abuse and abandonment. Please be the voice of animals who are in trouble without raising their voices.
