Quad City Storm Player Delivers One Punch Knockout

go to Quad City Storm At any hockey game, you’ll see at least one fist fight break out on the ice. Last night’s game against the Pensacola Ice Flyers was no different.

The Quad City Storm acquired LW Davis Kirkendall from the midseason-folding Vermillion County Bobcats on February 14, and he quickly became a crowd favorite.

Play on the ice started to get a little erratic in their matchup on Thursday, March 2, with more and more pushes and pushes between the teams due to puck stoppages.

After Pensacola Ice Flyers defenseman Nick Leitner challenged him to a fight, Davis Kirkendall single-handedly stopped it.

The linesman dropped the puck into the left faceoff circle, and moments later Kirkendall dropped Lightner like a bag of potatoes in front of the Ice Flyers’ net.

It took just one punch to land

Lightner took minutes to get up from that knockout punch and eventually had to be helped off the ice.

The crowd went wild when the cameras showed a close-up of Leitner’s bloody face on screen. From close-ups, he looks like he probably broke his nose.

Kirkendall isn’t the first Quad City player to achieve a one-pan knockout. In 2017, Mullers goaltender Adam Bay scored a one-punch knockout of Cincinnati to his Cyclones goaltender Michael Hauser.

The Quad City Storm lost 4-1 to the Ice Flyers on Thursday night.

In the second period, Ice Flyer Andrew Irwin saw the first goal of the game, but the Storm’s Taylor Price tied the game in the third period.

Price scored a second goal shortly after, but the goal was swept away and QC Mike Mercurio was sent to the penalty box.
