After the Family Leadership Summit in Iowa on Friday, entrepreneur and anti-awakening author Vivek Ramaswamy probably won’t fit into the White House just yet.but he became man to see in the Republican presidential primary.
Ramaswamy’s rhetoric is crisp, his background is compelling, his policies are widely popular, and his outsider qualities are unmatched even by former President Donald Trump. He developed a strong rapport with host and Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson, displaying some of Obama’s charms in 2007 and the over-sophistication that hampered early interviews. I threw away my ugliness to a large extent.
He gave an answer about Ukraine that seemed to throw red meat at the nationalists, but at the same time sounded erudite and political. He successfully threaded the needle on January 6th. He spoke movingly about his interactions with inner-city voters, proving that it is possible to play unifier and fighter at the same time. And he delivered one of the best soundbites of the day.
“I had privileges. I didn’t grow up rich, but I had two parents in my home, a mother and a father, and the emphasis was on education and faith in God.” he said. “You know it’s the ultimate privilege. I thought if I was going to enjoy it, all the kids in this country should enjoy it too.” (Related: Vivek Ramaswamy Explains How He Shut Down FBI Without Congressional Permission)
Ramaswami has turned what could have been his greatest weakness – Hinduism – into a strength and says more about God than devout evangelical South Carolina Senator Tim Scott. On the other hand, he never gives the impression that he’s too good to ditch the Republican Party. deep state.
Without a career in politics or a job on the Boeing board, he carried out former UN ambassador Nikki Haley’s appeal against immigrant children. While former Vice President Mike Pence repeats Reaganist clichés, he’s bursting with new ideas. And while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis seems like the other side of the magnet so far, he really is. The side that pushes things away instead of pulling them in.
No new polls have been taken since the Iowa summit, but there are already signs that Vivec has some support.Predict oddshas assigned each candidate a number equal to the number of cents they must bet to win a dollar, with Trump aged 60, DeSantis 19 and Vivec 12 at the time of this writing. It is old. This makes Ramaswamy much more of a rival to DeSantis than he is to Trump.
Charles CW Cook, National Review, April called Ramaswamy Trump’s ‘servant’ but said he was notTRUE run for president. ‘Will I say the same thing after Friday?
Ramaswami could step down with a handful of delegates after Super Tuesday and parachute into a cushy career as an anti-awakening pundit. But I think he has more than that.
I’m going to throw some dates here so hang out.

So far, the Ohio Senate race has three candidates: businessman Bernie Moreno, Senator Matt Dolan, and Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose. No one has stood out in the polls so far, but Moreno already has the backing of Ohio Senator J.D. Vance. The conventional wisdom is that he, too, will endorse Trump and win the primary smoothly. (Related: Vivek Ramaswamy reveals list of Supreme Court nominees – including Ted Cruz and Mike Lee)
But what if President Trump withholds his endorsement?
The former president has already said he will not attend the Republican primary debate. You can’t exactly blame him, as he seems happy to run the Rose Garden campaign from his Mar-a-Lago, and it’s been working continuously. This set up a scenario where DeSantis, Ramaswamy, Pence, Haley and Scott would be forced to battle for second place on the stage.
If so, it’s easy to see that Ramaswamy is the biggest beneficiary of these discussions. Candidates certainly think so.when i interviewed him Mr Ramaswamy told me directly in April that the road to victory was in the debate stage. Can he outrun Trump? Almost certainly not. Will he be able to catch DeSantis? perhaps. But even if he didn’t, he could still catch DeSantis’ eye. donor As the Florida governor’s performance continues to languish, they are desperate for an alternative to Mr. Trump.
Let’s say in early December, President Trump’s approval rating is still at 50%. DeSantis dropped to 18th. Vivek jumped up to his 15th position. And Pence, Haley and Scott are all stuck at 6 or 7.
Ramaswamy said at a press conference that he could hold out until Super Tuesday, but that the public had made it clear they wanted Trump as the nominee. It would be unfair to his donors to continue competing in races with no real chance of winning.
And (he continues), he withdraws from the race, endorses Trump, and declares his candidacy for the U.S. Senate. Within an hour, President Trump posted a post on Truth Social in favor of Ramaswamy, who instantly became the front-runner.

Ramaswamy has no Vance A story from rugs to MAGAHowever, he was born and raised in Ohio and still lives there. He has also repeatedly called for all-out war on the cartels, a position that would certainly benefit the fentanyl-stricken Rust Belt state.
Whether he can defeat Democratic Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown will depend on the national environment. However, it should be noted that Mr. Brown won his first two terms in 2006 and 2012, when Ohio was still a battleground state, and his third in 2018, which was a bad year for the Republican Party. Deserved. The last time he ran for president in an election year, he edged Barack Obama’s win by a 3-point margin by another 3 percentage points (against then-Ohio Treasury Secretary Josh Mandel). geek).
It’s also worth noting that Trump won Ohio by eight points in both 2016 and 2020. This means that if Ohio stays as red as it has been in the last two elections, even if Mr. Brown doubles his 2012 gap, he could still be two points short. It means that there isNo wonder roll call rank him As one of the most vulnerable senators.
If Ramaswamy is elected to the Senate, Ohio will have two of the Senate’s most dynamic and promising members. Both would be well-positioned for cabinet posts in future Republican administrations or for their own candidacy in the 2028 presidential election.
From 1869 to 1923, 6 out of 11 The presidents of the United States were from Ohio and were all Republicans. Ramaswamy is almost certain to be elected president in 2024. But it’s possible he and Vance could join forces to form the beginning of a new Buckeye dynasty.
