In her latest crazy monologue, Rachel Maddow warned that another “far-right” conspiracy is afoot – except this time it's coming not from Russia but from Middle-earth.
“The Lord of the Rings is kind of a favorite world for far-right and alt-right figures in Europe and the US to name things and make cultural references.” – Rachel Maddow
Huh?

Maddow is simply joining a group of leftists in attacking vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance, all of whom have portrayed him as an extremist puppet of conservative activist/tech billionaire Peter Thiel, who has been his mentor for a decade, but Maddow adds her own magical level of insanity.
The Lord of the Rings series is “a favourite universe of cultural reference for many far-right and alt-right figures in both Europe and the US,” Maddow astutely explains.
Teal “names all his works after characters or places from Tolkien,” she continued, and Vance has dutifully followed suit.
Vance named his venture capital firm Narya, after the Elven ring of power: “It's easy to remember because it's Aryan, but you move the N forward.”
This is some serious hard-hitting journalism, Maddow. You really got them this time. They must both be Nazis.
Yes, we are now at the point in the political debate where The Lord of the Rings, one of the world's most beloved book and film series for generations, has become a dog whistle for the “far right.”
She's right: the series is conservative enough to be considered “far right” by today's crazy leftists, which is 99.9% of humanity. The series champions the power of good triumphing over evil, the values of community and “fellowship,” duty, authority, respect for tradition, and a deep distrust of absolute authority. But this is what the left does: they equate the values that a determined majority consider to be unquestionably good and true with Nazism, and make their warped extremism seem normal in comparison.
Maddow wants to call us extreme, but we all know what she would do if she had the One Ring that had the power to “rule them all.”
