Ray Epps is also included in President Donald Trump’s blanket pardon for more than 1,500 defendants convicted of crimes related to January 6th.
Epps, who was recorded on tape encouraging others to enter the Capitol, was sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to pay $500 in restitution in January 2024.

Video footage from the night before January 6 shows Epps urging Trump supporters to enter the Capitol.
“I’m going to get this out. I’m probably going to go to jail for it. Tomorrow I have to go to the Capitol. To the Capitol. Peacefully,” Epps said in the recording.
In December, a federal judge dismissed Epps’ defamation lawsuit against Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson. Epps filed the lawsuit after Carlson suggested that Epps may have been a government employee based on video footage.
The White House did not respond to requests for comment.
