Rays’ Edwin Uceta, Kevin Cash Both Land Suspensions For Sparking Up Near Brawl Against Phillies

Major League Baseball has punished them!

Announced on Wednesday Major League Baseball Tampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Edwin Uceta He was suspended three games and fined an undisclosed amount for intentionally throwing a pitch at the Philadelphia Phillies' right fielder. Nick Castellanos.

The incident occurred in the bottom of the eighth inning of the Phillies' 9-4 win on Tuesday, leaving both dugouts and bullpens at Citizens Bank Park completely empty and excitement at its peak. Tampa manager Kevin Cash also received a one-game suspension, effective Wednesday, and was fined for his actions. His suspension was for Uceta's actions.

Uceta's suspension also began Wednesday and was eventually reduced from an initial three games to two, meaning he can rejoin the Rays this Friday at Cleveland, leaving Tampa Bay short on pitchers until then.

I understand why Edwin Uceta was suspended, but why was Kevin Cash suspended for one game?

This makes absolutely no sense to me, especially considering there have been a string of suspensions in the past that didn't include the captain. What nonsense.
