RCBH College of Health Careers offers Licensed Practical Nurse program

Roads to the medical sector are now available locally

Somerton, AZ (KYMA, KECY) – Regional Center for Border Health (RCBH) Health Career College offers a Licensed Nurse (LPN) program.

LPNs serve as an important part of the healthcare industry with a steady demand for skilled healthcare workers.

“We know the demand for nursing homes and hospitals is huge and that the population and the aging population continue to grow, including a 36 percent increase in the elderly population in Arizona. So we know there’s demand. said the RCBH president. CEO Amanda Aguirre.

The program runs for nine months and its mission is to prepare future students for the medical demands of Arizona.

There are 16 students enrolled in the first class, which started just two weeks ago.

RCBH Campus Administrator Lorena Delgadillo explained exactly how interested people can take the first step.

“You have to call medical career colleges. You can register, ”Della Gadillo explained.

Graduating students receive their license through the Arizona Board of Nursing.

Delgadillo said the program acts as a pipeline to higher aspirations.

“To become an RN, this is a great way to get started and get a registered nurse license from college or community college,” Delgadillo said.

According to the website Salary.com, the average starting salary for LPNs in Yuma is $43,000 per year.
