Reds’ Elly De La Cruz Becomes Just The 5th Player Ever In MLB History To Join The 60/20 Club

I knew this kid was going to be a star.

Playing against the Toronto Blue Jays, he MLB Top This was his 60th stolen base of the season, making him just the fifth player in league history to record 60 or more stolen bases and 20 or more home runs in a season.

The fourth player to join the 60/20 club was the Atlanta Braves superstar. Ronald Acuña Jr. Last season, he hit 41 home runs and stole 73 bases.

The other three members of the club are Rickey Henderson, Eric Davis and Joe Morgan, the last two also Reds players.

Would I be willing to induct this kid into the Hall of Fame right now?

If you've been following my coverage at the Daily Caller, you know I've had my eye on Ellie de la Cruz since the beginning. I'm impressed that he's in the 60/20 club, but honestly, it's not the most shocking thing in the world. I knew he was going to be a superstar.

And to think that Ellie is doing this at just 22 years old…it's amazing to imagine him in his prime.
