Relay for Life Yuma hosts Cancer Survivor and Caregivers Dinner

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Yuma County’s Relay for Life hosted a dinner honoring cancer survivors and caregivers on Sunday.

According to Relay for Life Facebook director“This is for cancer survivors and their loved ones to come together and commemorate their journey.”

The dinner began at 4 p.m. in time for National Cancer Survivor’s Day and was held at the Pivot Point Conference Center.

It was also a big moment for Relay for Life Yuma to close out the 2022-23 fundraising season.

“This is kind of the culmination of our Relay for Lifeyear. And tonight we’re closing out with a heartfelt celebration of the end of the season,” said Relay Four, “a celebration for this year’s fundraiser and for all the survivors who may or may not have been on the track together in March.” Life Yuma event leader Amber Thornton said.

In addition to providing meals, photo booths, silent auctions, door prizes, etc. will also be prepared.

Dinner will continue until 7 p.m. and the Relay for Life Yuma is scheduled to return for the 2023-24 season on Sept. 1.
