ADOT Launches Project to Reinforce Bridge Damaged in Semi-Collision
Semi-tractor trailer collision damaged U.S. Route 191 overpass in Wilcox East. Reopening westbound Interstate 10 in southeastern Arizona will require temporary bridge repairs, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. is expected to take up to 48 hours.
ADOT contractors are mobilizing the necessary personnel, equipment and materials to reinforce the bridge. The work will begin Wednesday afternoon and will continue around the clock until ADOT can safely reopen the westbound highway.
Eastbound I-10 passes through this area.
Westbound I-10 traffic is bypassed:
- From Road Forks, New Mexico, follow State Route 80 south and east to Route 191 in Douglas.
- Continue North on US 191 to Davis Road in McNeil.
- Continue west on Davis Road to SR 80.
- North SR 80 through Tombstone to SR 82.
- Head west on SR 82 to SR 90 at the grindstone.and
- Take SR 90 north to I-10 Benson.
