Since Joe Biden took office, his administration has been working around the clock to fundamentally change America's K-12 education system, providing school-age children with that radical Policies and woke ideology can be inculcated.
I've seen a lot of very disturbing things about this administration, especially when they labeled those involved and the parents involved as “domestic terrorists.” This should piss us all off.
For decades, children's test scores have been declining. In fact, reading scores are at their lowest levels in decades, and math scores are declining at the largest rate we've ever seen. It's clear that the federal government's one-size-fits-all approach is not working, and we need to give parents and communities more control over their education systems.
That's why my House Republican colleagues and I passed HR5, the Parents' Bill of Rights Act. By doing so, we can restore parents' voice in their children's education, stop the Biden administration from calling these parents “domestic terrorists,” and ensure that their children become terrorists. To receive the best education possible.
It's School Choice Week, a time to highlight some of the many great K-12 education options for children. These include traditional public, charter, magnet, online, private, and homeschool options. Now, more than ever, we need school choice so families can spend their children's education where they feel it's best. Parents should send their children to the best schools possible, regardless of their income status.
We are encouraged to see Alabama's local and statewide elected officials making school choice a priority in this year's legislative session. I believe expanding school choice in Alabama will expand opportunities and improve the quality of education for countless students across Alabama.
One of the things I learned as a representative of Alabama's 1st Congressional District in Washington is that the federal government does very little well, and it doesn't dictate what and how we educate our children. Instructing others is not one of them. Let's put parents, not the federal government, back in charge of their children's education and give them the tools they need to succeed in life.
