The House returns to Washington next week for the second session of the 118th Congress.th meeting. My top priority this year is to fight President Biden and repair the damage he has done to this country. We must secure our southern border, protect lives, and rein in reckless government spending.

Last year, the House passed HR2, the Secure Borders Act, the toughest border bill ever passed by the House. This legislation will continue building the wall and give Border Patrol agents the tools they need to keep us safe. It also secured $2.1 billion in the fiscal year 2024 Homeland Security appropriations bill to complete the wall and allocated $496 million for a record 22,000 new Border Patrol agents. I have been a strong advocate as co-sponsor of a resolution to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Mayorkas and stop the spread of deadly fentanyl into our communities through the HALT Fentanyl Act.

We have also held the Biden administration accountable many times over the past year. I personally co-sponsored a resolution calling for President Biden's immediate resignation and voted to redirect $312 million from climate action to strengthen border security efforts. Additionally, I will vote against Biden's proposed funding for 85,000 new IRS employees, cut wasteful spending through the spending bill, redirect funding to prioritize national defense, and increase He has consistently voted to eliminate ten wasteful government programs. It is my duty to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and effectively for the benefit of the American people.

The Republican-controlled House intends to continue doing our job this year, but now it's up to Senate Democrats to step up and do their part to secure the border, rein in government spending, and hold the Biden administration accountable. All you need to do is fulfill your mission.

As each day passes, it becomes clear that Americans cannot afford Bidennomics or the devastating effects of the Biden border crisis. Thankfully, Americans will have the opportunity this November to make their voices heard and hold President Biden accountable for the failed policies that are driving America into the ground.
