Donald Trump Jr. asked a media reporter, “Are you late?” Answering questions about whether he was running for president in 2028, the outlet reported on Friday.
Despite Don Jr.’s strong pushback, the outlet wrote a story In the headline: “Donald Trump Jr. is considering the president’s run in 2028.”
To support the argument, Mediate cited three anonymous “high-level sources” that Don Jr. said he was “seriously considering implementing it.”
The outlet placed Don Jr.’s denial in paragraph 12.
“I accurately predicted that my partner, JD, would become an instant power player for National GOP Politics. Your theory is that I wanted to run for president in 2028, so I took my ass off to help nominate VP. Are you late?” he asked, according to the outlet.
“I’m glad you actually printed this bullshit, but at least now the rest of the press squad sees how shitty your ‘sauce’ is and how easily they play. Congratulations on his statement, according to Mediate,” his statement concluded.
Don Jr. was the only source of name in the story. (Related: “Man has real charisma”: Former CNN analyst speculates whether Donald Trump Jr. will run for the White House in 2028)
His response gained traction online, with Republican strategist Andrew Slavian claiming that people continue to send stories to him to tease the media people.
This is Don’s statement. Imagine calling yourself a journalist and playing this badly by clearly “sources.” Every reporter on DC I know sends stories that mimic the story to do it. Total clown 🤡 https://t.co/q68xpba4bc pic.twitter.com/33qbil9wd1
