A newlywed father of four died in a possible car accident shortly after his wedding, police said.
Tyreke Barton, 37, was married on October 12 at the Barber Park Event Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, approximately seven hours before the WXII12 shooting. reported. Barton’s family contacted police shortly after the wedding reception, claiming that an unknown person had entered the park. The family claimed the groom was involved in a car accident and Burton was shot near his bride, daughter and other attendees.

“What was supposed to be one of the happiest moments of his life turned into something tragic,” Brittany Burton, the victim’s sister, told WXII12.
“I don’t understand how someone who doesn’t know someone with a can of paint could come all of a sudden and do that,” she said. “I don’t and I never will.”
