REPORT: Indiana Man Allegedly Stabs Wife 40 Times On Valentine’s Day

An Indiana man accused of murdering his wife on Valentine’s Day remains unconfined after entering a petition of not guilty on Tuesday, local outlet Wave 3 News reported Wednesday.

Authorities accused 34-year-old Taylor Meyer of allegedly murdering his wife, Deborah Meyer, but the children were sleeping at home on February 14th. According to 3 Spread the news. New details from the 8-page Possible Cause Affidavit outline the events leading up to the conflict.

According to a local report, Meyer suspected that he had a relationship with his colleagues and his colleagues. He told investigators that the suspicions have been straining the marriage since January, the outlet reported.

Determined to save the relationship, Meyer planned a romantic evening. According to the outlet, he bought his wife a dress, ordered takeout, and decorated the house with paintings from Eiffel Tower. The couple reportedly danced to their wedding songs before the tension surfaced.

According to Wave 3 News, Meyer claimed that Deborah temporarily left the house after dinner. When she returned, he demanded her phone, leading to a violent argument, Wave 3 News reported. The affidavit alleges that Meyer choked her, pushed her against the ground, sitting on her back while searching for her message, the report said. When Deborah fought back, Meyer was allegedly attacked her repeatedly with a bottle of wine before retrieving the knife, and was allegedly stabbed her around 40 times, the outlet reported. He then used her phone to call a photo of her body “your fault” to a contact listed as “my best friend Emily.” He also allegedly sent messages to her family and friends and confessed to the murder, according to local reports.

When police arrived, Meyer allegedly resisted the arrest and forced officers to use administrative tactics. According to the outlet, three children under the age of five were found to be unharmed at home. Meyer remains at the Clark County Jail. His trial is set for July 15th.
