REPORT: Man Confesses To Grisly Murder Of Girlfriend. Autopsy Finds Bizarre Object In Back Of Victim’s Throat

Police in Seattle, Washington have charged a 26-year-old man with first-degree murder and felony assault in the death of his girlfriend, whose body was found in his townhome.

The suspect, Andy Chu, reportedly told investigators, “I may have killed her.” KOMO News.

According to KOMO News, court documents indicate the victim was visiting Chu from Hawaii. Her body was discovered in Chu's bathroom on August 10 after a neighbor noticed water leaking from the residence, and immediately notified the homeowner. Seattle police and firefighters entered the home and found the victim's body, lying face-up with her throat slit, near a bathtub full of water and a sink still running, KOMO News reported. Authorities reportedly also found an ice pack against the victim's throat and a neck support block.

A subsequent autopsy revealed that she had a heavy white ball lodged in her throat, as well as blunt force trauma to her face, head, neck, chest, arms and legs, KOMO News reported. Prosecutors allege that Chu twisted her lover's neck while holding her underwater.

Neighborhood security camera footage allegedly showed Chu and the victim entering a townhouse together on August 9. Chu was seen leaving the house alone the following day, according to KOMO News. Chu reportedly began acting erratically, so friends took him to the University of Washington Northwestern Medical Center. Chu was arrested at the medical center for allegedly assaulting a nurse, according to KOMO News.

The suspect allegedly admitted to taking two MDMA pills at his home before the incident, and authorities said he strangled his girlfriend, drowned her underwater and tried to resuscitate her by putting a ball in her mouth, the report said.

He is currently in custody pending ongoing investigations.
