A male passenger in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) traveling on Interstate 88 was stopped by New York state troopers for speeding on Friday and allegedly shot the officer in the arm and fled. . The shooter, later identified as Nelson Troche, 32, of Schenectady, New York, died of an alleged suicide.
The incident occurred around 11:11 p.m. in Duanesburg, New York, when Officer Richard Albert allegedly stopped traffic for an SUV that was traveling at over 160 mph. Officer Albert’s injuries were non-life-threatening and he was treated and discharged from Ellis Hospital, the statement said.
