The Pit Bulls are looking to purchase the naming rights to Florida International's football stadium, but are waiting for a vote from the school board.
According to FIU Board of Trustees documents, the board is scheduled to vote on the matter on Tuesday and is expected to approve a five-year agreement to move forward with the name “Pit Bull Stadium.” ABC NewsThe meeting is being viewed as a formality to maintain the formalities of the name change process. According to ABC News, documents related to the vote state that as part of the agreement, Pit Bull will pay the school $1.2 million annually for a total of five years.

Rapper and entertainer Armando Christian Pérez has Florida ties that the deal solidifies: Pitbull, better known as “Mister 305” after Miami's area code, attended Miami Coral Park High School.
If the deal goes through, the university will become the first to have a collegiate gymnasium named after a musician, according to ABC News.
If all goes well, Pitbull could become a long-term fixture in Miami, as the contract includes an option for the famous singer and businessman to renew for another five years.

According to the documents, Pitbull will be responsible for creating FIU's school song and posting about the school on social media at least 12 times a year. He will also be required to perform at one sports fundraiser each year of his contract, according to ABC News.
The deal also includes additional perks for the star: Pit Bull will have access to the stadium 10 days each year for the duration of the deal, his vodka company will be the preferred brand to sell at the venue, and he'll also have access to two suites at all home football games, according to ABC News.
The building seats 20,000. FIU has played football since 2002 and has participated in five bowl games in the school's history. The school has not had a winning season since 2018. (RELATED: TI Arrested at Airport in Wild Case of Misidentification: Report)
The first game at the stadium, soon to be renamed Pit Bull Stadium, will be on September 7 when the Panthers host Central Michigan University.
