REPORT: Police Say Florida Deputy Died From Ambush-Style Killing After Woman And Family Obsesses Over ‘Lucifer’

FOX35 reported Monday that police arrested a 48-year-old Florida woman on suspicion of ambushing and killing a Lake County sheriff's officer.

Officials Press conference Julie Ann Sulpizio is charged with first-degree premeditated murder for killing Deputy Bradley Michael Link, 28, and wounding two other deputies during a shootout at her home. Fox 35.

Police began investigating a 911 call about a domestic disturbance that occurred Friday evening near Sulpizio's home. Police received a separate call about Sulpizio being aggressive toward neighbors, Sheriff Peyton Grinnell said at a news conference.

“The Applicant, [Sulpizio] “She pretends to be religious and accuses them of being sinners and knows what they've done,” the sheriff said. (RELATED: Authorities arrest three suspects in connection to deadly ambush of rapper)

Grinnell said that when officers confronted Sulpizio, he told them he needed it to trick “Lucy,” adding: “Later, [Lucy] That will be the name she calls Lucifer.”

Grinnell said officers decided to conduct a welfare check after Sulpizio's behavior became suspicious.

When deputies arrived at her home they found two dead dogs outside and an open window with a broken screen, according to the sheriff's office, after which they called for backup.

Link and another officer, Harold Howell, entered the home and were ambushed by Sulpizio's husband and showered with “a hail of bullets,” the sheriff said.

Grinnell said Link was trapped inside the home and shot multiple times before SWAT teams arrived and pulled a second deputy from the home to safety.

Police said Sulpizio's husband was inside the home with their two daughters when one of them allegedly yelled, “My king will kill you all! You are children of Lucifer!”, FOX35 reported.

According to FOX35, Link's body camera footage showed Sulpizio's husband and daughters had planned to kill themselves, but police found them dead from gunshot wounds to the head.

Grinnell said Sulpizio, who is being held without bail, was arrested Monday afternoon at AdventHealth Waterman Hospital and transported there for treatment and evaluation.
