REPORT: Steven Spielberg Adding Cast Members To Upcoming UFO Movie

Steven Spielberg is reportedly assembling an all-star cast for his upcoming UFO movie, which could include some new faces.

Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo is rumored to be in early negotiations to star in Spielberg's currently untitled UFO movie. said “If he does join the cast, he'll join the likes of Emily Blunt, Colin Firth and Eve Hewson who are lined up for Spielberg and Cope's next big adventure,” Deadline said in a story published on Monday.

There are few hints about what the movie will be about or what cast members will be doing during production, but with a target release date of May 15, 2026, filming will likely begin sometime in the spring of 2025. Given the length of time between casting, filming and editing, I expect Spielberg will be doing something a little different with this film, and with the myriad of artificial intelligence (AI) software available for content creation these days, it would be very easy for Spielberg to put something together.

Could it be that the reason it's taken so long to make is because he's trying to bring real filmmaking back into the picture? Let's hope so!

Koepp and Spielberg had previously worked together on arguably the greatest movie of all time, “Jurassic Park.” (Related article: Steven Spielberg reportedly “yelled a lot” at Twister director during nightmarish production)

His other work includes Mission: Impossible and, sadly, one of the worst movies of all time, Indiana Jones and the Force Awakens, so let's hope this new one is more like his previous work than his more recent efforts.
