Two Pennsylvania state troopers were injured and one died in a shootout with a man in Juniata County on Saturday, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.
At around 12:45 p.m., the suspect opened fire on police officers in the Mifflintown Borough of Juniata County, seriously injuring one officer. Pennsylvania State Police Media Release Said. Other officers later found the man in the Swamp Road and Baumgardner Drive area of Walker Township in Juniata County after more than two hours of searching, the release added. According to media reports, a shootout ensued, in which a suspect and a police officer were each shot dead. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Pennsylvania Police Colonel Christopher Paris visited the injured officer in the hospital, the release shared. Police said in a statement that the names of the injured officer and the names of the fallen officer and the dead shooter will be released at a later date.
In another earlier incident, in the early hours of June 4, Pennsylvania state troopers shot and killed 18-year-old Anthony Allegrini Jr. along Interstate 95 near Penn’s Landing. Allegrini was reportedly involved in street car racing. According to the report, there was a stunt that blocked part of the highway. CBS news. Allegrini’s car struck and injured two police officers, who then shot him dead, according to a CBS News report.
